Little Moscow @ The Cluny; 14th Dec 1019

There is no better way to end a great year in music than being a part of  an incredible night at The Cluny in Newcastle.  Little Moscow took to the stage for their Christmas Bash and they delivered a cracking set full of classic rock tracks old and new. The crowd was instantly hooked from the 1st cord to the last drum beat.

The Audience sang and danced for the 2 hour set and when Slade came on they lifted the roof with their communal singing. In-fact it was so loud you couldn't hear Little Moscow.

What a night to finish 2019 on.

Thanks for a wicked gig guys ...

Canny Chanters & Little Moscow @ The Gaffers - Chopwell

17th Jan 2020

2020 kicked off with a very special gig in Chopwell, as the village’s best-loved rock band Little Moscow joined forces with local choir the Canny Chanters for a music night with a difference. Friday 17th January saw The Gaffers sold out for a double launch party and perhaps the biggest band ever to have rocked the place!

The Canny Chanters, led by Bethany Elen, opened the night with a set of charming and very different songs from around the world, including an original piece with a local theme by one of their members. The band joined them onstage for their last few songs, winding up their set with David Bowie’s classic Rebel Rebel and a great solo verse from Bowie’s biggest fan, Helen Neasham.

Little Moscow then celebrated their launch as a 4-piece band ready to hit local stages with a heavier set than their festival-friendly 5-piece counterpart, including numbers by Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age and Motörhead. Any top-notch band needs to perform regularly and with Si King busy for much of the year, the obvious solution was to keep gigging, tighten up and bust out some heavy metal classics! Expect to see more of Little Moscow around the North East in the near future \m/

For the Canny Chanters, this was the inaugural event for a series of arts-based community workshops, funded by Well NewcastleGateshead. The first of these - Little Moscow School of Rock - happened a week later to great success, as the band got more than 30 locals of all ages rocking the Community Centre; more information on the Canny Chanters Facebook page for anyone interested. As the night drew to a close, the choir joined the band again for some high-energy anthems, marking the end of an important night for Chopwell and a great party!

The Hairy Rock Show Live From Rockstock

Val Sage :

"You guys were awesome, really enjoyed the set. First time I've heard Lola played by a band other than the Kinks. I remember buying the single in Piccadilly Circus when I was a teenager, memories. Would love for you to do a longer set at Rockstock. One of the best afternoons of my life. Thanks."

“A fantastic  headline act after the highs of P.P Arnold, Amy MacDonald, and the lows of Alanis Morisette”
